Fourth of July... Washington, D.C.

Can you tell at all that this little guy has had a tough week! Ear infection, fever, and super super over tired! He did manage to eat some ravioli and pizza! The girls enjoyed the pizza too and loved their cups even more!

Washington, D.C.
We visited Uncle Andy from Thursday to Sunday and once again got to see awesome Boomers from the roof top! I must say it was a very stressful trip but we managed somehow to make it all back alive. Traveling with three kids alone without Don sure does make it hard on Mommy.
Day One
Meghan and Connors first train ride on Amtrak and maras second time(first was NY to American girl store) although Connor won't let us live that trip down because the entire weekend he whined that all he wanted to do was take a taxi.  You would have thought our kids were super deprived. The Big Bus tour wasn't enough or the train or the circulator bus. They are always wanting More, More and More!!! I know I should always expect the unexpected and take it with a grain of salt so can someone please, please, pretty please show me how to do this!!! I love my kids and family with all my heart! I just can't handle the unexpected!

We started off going to uncle Andy's on the bus and then dropped our bags off and headed to the Green Turtle for lunch and this is where the complaining started... Connor made it seem that he couldn't walk any further because he was too tired and it was too hot( really he just wanted to take a taxi but didnt fill us in with that info). We had a great lunch there and it's a great place for the kids because every booth has its own tv!!
After lunch we spent the rest of the day swimming and then headed out for a  quick bite to eat before the fireworks!
Having fun at lunch bring goofy in the Green Turtle restaurant! Who can stick their tongue out further. Looks like Mara wins this one.
Day Two
We went to the building museum and played in the building zone and then we played mini golf. After we were all worn out we headed to five guys for some yummy French fries and then Meggie and popop took naps while Connor and Mara went swimming in the hotel pool. We went over to Andy's for a post 4th of July BBQ and some night seimming!

Night swimming was a lot of fun... Swimming was the only thing that kept the kids 100% happy!!

Day three: Big Bus Tour
Mara and Connors first Starbucks, splashing in fountains, carousel ride, more swimming and
Yummy dinner at capital brewing company!! Finished the night with a bath and girls were asleep by 7 pm. Connor on the other hand was being sneaky with PopPop and they went down to the bar and Connor got a hamburger because his nachos were to spicy and a soda! Lucky him! I enjoyed the peace and quiet the rest of the night.

Dinner at capital brewing company... Next time we go the kids are just going to eat the complimentary soft pretzels which were Aaahhmazzing!!!
This about sums up our mini trip leaving out all the whining, complaining, crying an screaming and the really bad parts where Mommy just went absolutely crazy!
Day 4:
Breakfast at hotel, circulator bus to union station, train ride home!!
We love Samara but she gives us a run for our money! She pretends that she likes to eat but really she likes to take just one bite out of EVERYTHING!!!

Making our final wishes in the wishing well before we say goodbye! Connor was out of money so Mara threw her quarter and told Connor that she threw that one for him and he could make his wish!

Totally wiped out on the train ride home!

We hope you all had a great day and made many fabulous Fourth of July memories too! We really missed our daddy and don't think we will be traveling with out him again anytime in the near future.
