Happy Father's Day 2011

A Dad is

A Dad is respected because he gives his children leadership.
A Dad is appreciated because he gives his children care.
A Dad is valued because he gives his children time.
A Dad is loved because he gives his children the one thing they treasure most - himself.

First off a special Happy Father's Day to my Dad. I miss you so much and am so glad you had a great day today hanging out with mom, cleaning pools and enjoying the sunshine.

 HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DADDY!
Life Lessons
You may have thought I didn't see,
Or that I hadn't heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.
Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we'd grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It's written on my heart.
Without you, Dad, I wouldn't be
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.
I've grown up with your values,
And I'm very glad I did;
So here's to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.

And...HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO MY HUBBY WHO LOVES HIS KIDDOS TO PIECES
Thank you for all you do for the kids and me. We love you the mostest!
Today we celebrated Dad's Day by Mommy going and running 8 miles and Daddy slept in with the kids all in bed until 7:30 and then I took everyone to church and Daddy said he was going to take it easy and see us at 12:00. He took a great long afternoon nap and I cleaned the house some, trimmed the flowers outback, did 5 loads of laundry, emptied the dishwasher and got dinner ready. He got to enjoy some golf and the Phillies too. He did cook a great London Broil dinner because he is the grill master and we got him the new Weber "Time to Grill" cookbook which is awesome and he loved the new pictures of the kids and his travel coffee mug. Daddy played some baseball with Connor, listened to Mara whine, and gave Megs a few airplane rides.

We had a great weekend with Pop Pop and Uncle Andy too. They are exhausted from running outside all day with the kids.

Daddy and Me

My dad always smiles at me,
whenever i come across him, any where...
My dad always smile at me,
Even if i am sleeping....

He sings sometimes
under his breath-
every time, (usually the Beatles, I've heard the news today...)
even when he is distressed..
He sings  a man's song
deep with all his feelings in it...
even though his song doesn't swing
like-
the way my mom sings,
the way my brother sings
nor the way any one who know to sing swings...! ! !

My dad's voice starts and stops,
like a car short of gas,
like a engine choked with dust,
But then he clear his throat and the
song begins again.

He talks without any
halt,
The way i do...
He sleeps in that bed,
upper lip open,
The way i do...
I look like him,
i stand like him,
am all like him...
you are the best dad,
                    I love you most!
