Another week in February gone by...

Connor and Mara playing "MIMI AND POPPY"
I'm sure my parents got a good laugh when I called them to tell them that the kids decided it would be fun to pretend they were them. Connor said let's pretend we are Mimi and Poppy and they stuffed tissues in their ears like Poppy's hearing aids and started talking in conversation like my Mom and Dad and then Connor would say, "I can't hear you, I have my hearing aids in." It was a good laugh. A little bit of a mess with tissue pieces all over the couch but just another fun night passing the time until Daddy got home.

Another day another project finished and now on to the next one. Don took a few hours last weekend and painted the hallway and we are so excited that it is done and looks more like a room then a cold hallway. The stairs look so much nicer now and we love the way our pictures look now. We moved a few around int he house and now it is a little bit like a museum hallway. We plan to get sconces in between the two paintings on the one wall and then this room should be completely finished. It's so much fun painting and decorating and each time we do something it make the house more "ours" and feels so much more homey.

After the painting was completed I decided that all I ever do when I am home is clean and I have lasted 6 months taking care of everything myself and just felt that I was being taken over by the house. A few things were starting to not look as good as they used to and I felt that it was time to get some help so we hired the cleaning people that use to clean this house and what an awesome breath of fresh air. The feeling coming home to a clean house knowing that I can play more with the kids and not have to worry that in between playing I should be cleaning the floors just takes a big weight off  my shoulders. I was thrilled with the way the house and the floors look and will definitely be doing this once a month. Cleaning in between is no big deal for me but knowing that once a month the house is cleaned from head to toe is just a huge relief and lets us know that if something is let go for a little bit it will be cleaned perfectly in a few weeks. So yay for letting my control of cleaning go and horray for my cleaning crew.
Don't know if my house was really that dirty or if I should go on the fact that I have a lot of mirrors and glass, but she used almost an entire bottle of windex. It's amazing to see how a professional cleaner really knows what they are doing and my mirrors and glass cabinets in the kitchen have never been cleaner. The glass in my hutch I had to put my hand up to it to make sure the glass was still there that is how clean she got it. Just wonderful! So now I will be stock piling on comet, windex and pine sol.

Saying goodbye to the snow, tree damage and hopefully the last of our dreadful winter. Yes, the snow is fun but only for a little while and then you start to get that hope that spring is only a few weeks away and you really get the itch for some warmer weather and t-shirt time.
This is the last patch of snow in our backyard and hopefully the last of it until next year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one. And for our poor trees that lost their limbs I am waiting to see a tree guy in the neighborhood so I can get some estimates on cleaning up the dead trees and possibly taking down the one outside the stairwell window and removing the roots so we can plant grass there. We talked about taking the tree down a while ago but now we are thinking about it more.

Just a little light at the end of the tunnel. Buds are starting to appear everywhere in our yard and that is a sign that the sunshine and tulips will be here soon. Can't wait to see how pretty the yard will look.
