A very Thankful Thanksgiving!

THANKSGIVING IN FLORIDA 2009

Well to start things off we are very Thankful to be safe and sound in Sunny Florida! Although Wednesday was a total washout and Thanksgiving morning was overcast, the sun decided to show us its purpose in the early afternoon and we were so grateful as Connor would say for "Mr. Golden Sun". We all went over to Aunt Joan's and Uncle Doug's for a fantastic Turkey dinner.

It was truly great to have both of our families together. My parents came over on Wednesday night and stayed in the Marriott hotel so that they could share the day with all of us. We are thankful that all of our families get along so well. People in attendance for the 2009 Thanksgiving Dinner were: Joan, Doug, Kelly, Don, Connor, Samara, Pop-Pop, Mimi, Poppy, Grampa, Gramma and Uncle Andy. We got to enjoy great appetizers on the porch out back which is something that ordinarily we wouldn't be able to do in New Jersey on Thanksgiving Day.
The kids had fun in the morning watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade before we headed over to Uncle Doug's for the festivities. Mostly the kids ran around like crazy chasing the cats, Mara screaming every time one came close. They loved playing the piano together. My little dueling duets.

Thanks to Uncle Andy for wearing out the kids by running around in circles and playing games while Aunt Joan and Uncle Doug were cooking. After dinner Connor got this great idea of putting furniture together so we could go on a train ride. So yes, here we are on Connor's train. Choo, Choo!

Our day ended by watching the space shuttle and international space station travel through space which was a neat experience to watch. On the way home we went to look at an amazing display of Christmas lights. Tis the season, I am so excited to get our tree and visit Santa on Friday!
