What A Great Weekend!
The kids had so much fun having Mommy and Daddy to play with all weekend! It was such a joy yesterday to see Don and Connor playing so much together. They really have such a blast being imaginative together and playing with one another. Connor just adores his Daddy so much and every morning he asks him " so, Daddy do you have to work today", I think he just realizes now that Don works so much that everyday is a work day and he just gets so excited when we are all home together. We only have a few more weeks to go with the on call every other week. It is going to be so amazing to have Don around much, much more on the weekends. We can't wait. This is just one step closer to our future. Only 13 months to go. July starts Don's new call system of only working one weekend a month, so he decided to fill out his papers for his NJ license and we will see what that brings us. He only wants to moonlight if it is in GI, which I can't blame him because who wants to work in ICU when they have the joys of specializing. We don't want him to work more, but it would be nice if I could give up my Wednesdays and be home more with the kids. Working three days and taking care of the kids, house, bills, shopping, cleaning, etc. gets to be too much. Quite frankly, I don't know how moms do it working full time and keeping it all together. I definitely give them credit for being able to balance everything. Although, I can't imagine not being with my kids, as the time just goes by so fast. Samara is really proving that to me, because she is no longer a little baby. Today the kids got a shower together instead of a bath and whoa is that an opener for them growing up. Where are my babies....they are growing into little boy and little girl now. So this weekend, we ventured out in the rain to buy our water table that we have been wanting for the kids and met Jess, Dave, and Peyton for lunch after Peyton's preschool graduation at Nifty Fifties, we ordered pizza for dinner on Friday night and had such a relaxing evening. I starting reading the sequel to the Friday Night Knitting Club - Knit Two, which I finished in two days. It was a great book. Saturday, I got up at 6:30 to do my long run, came home exhausted and Don totally took over, thank goodness. When I got home from my run Don and I got to relax outback with our coffee and newspaper while the kids had an extravaganza with the sidewalk chalk that was wet from all the rain. So much for drawing , they were painting with the chalk. Mara was covered from head to toe in chalk, as was Don. She kept rubbing her hands in the painted patio and then rubbing it all over Don's arms and legs. He spent hours of bonding time with Connor while Mara and Mommy napped. We filled up Connor's pool, put together the climbing cube to make a slide for the kids to enter the pool. Take note that Connor was in awe that he could fill his pool to the tippity top. On Sunday, we all went to church and then had a beautiful day playing outside in the pool, gardening, and just being together. I took the kids with me to give Don a little down time and ran 2 miles with my faith and fitness group at the park. Connor loves when I run with them in the stroller, he keeps saying go faster mommy! Tonight, Don cut the grass and trimmed the edges, we grilled outside with the beautiful breeze and enjoyed a peaceful, fantastic steak dinner.

Please view Connor's video of him having a blast jumping into his pool. He really wanted me to post this so that his Grandparent's could see him having fun!
