Muddy Puddles by Connor, Mara and Meggie...aka Mommy's little Peppa Pigs!
If anyone knows my kids well we all know that they love the tv show Peppa Pig and during one of the episodes they practice jumping in Muddy Puddles and it was raining a little one day and they got on their rain boots and made muddy puddles. For once I didn't stop them and just enjoyed the laughter in their voices and the smiles on their faces. The puddles have since dried up, the mud has since washed off the boots and the insoles are all dry but the smiles of such great memories will never fade away!
After all the Muddy Puddles Mara decided to swing and for the first time in her life was able to swing all by herself. No more, "mommy, can you please push me, please, mommy!" We are so proud of our little girl. The kids are growing up so quickly. I never thought the day would come when she would say, "Mommy, I can do it now all by myself, I don't need you anymore." She was so happy and we are so happy for her too!
Daddy has found his new hobby...going with Uncle Tommy to the antique auction and buying new things for the house. He has brought home two painings and this new bench along with a ton of other nic naks and books. The kids have been enjoying the new bench as they use it as a photo op and it has also become the time out space. Mara and Meggie play with their dolls and pretend they are putting them in time out.
Connor having fun at the Flyers Hockey Day Camp at Atkinson Park. He did have a great time but I was cut short on seeing the whole thing because this was the same day we unfortunately discovered that Meggie had a Peanut Allergy. We gave her a peanut butter cracker and bingo with in minutes she was scratching her tonuge and covered in hives all around her mouth and lips. We did finally get to Chop last week and it is a confirmed Peanut Allergy. Benadryl and Epi pens will forver be a part of Meggies life until hopefully one day she grows out of it, but most likely the doctor says that usually doesn't happen. She can still eat her honey nut cheerios and enjoy a granola bar that has traces of peanuts but my little girl will never get to enjoy a yummy pb and J sandwich on the beach or at school lunch. It was very dissapointing to hear but at least we know now and the guidelines are written in case of any emergencies. Poor Meggie! But back to Connor, he really enjoyed his camp and got an awesome flyers hockey street stick and signed autographed photos of former hocekey players.
Connor and Mara dressed up for VBS like hippies. Each day of VBS was a different theme. One day it was tacky tourist day, the next was dress like a crayon and each group had to wear a different color and the last day was red, white and blue day and both my kids won prizes for being the best dressed up kid. It was so cute, and Connor really went all out and I don't know what he would have done if he didn't win because he even cut his socks in half to make wrist bands and leg warmers and it was 100 degrees outside!
The theme for the week was no matter what people do....Trust God! The pastor gave a great speech to the kids about being bullied and how kids at some point in your life are going to call you names and say mean things but the bottom line is that God is never going to let you down and to always trust him in whatever you do.
