Connor took the band test at Peachwood Pool and passed on his first try. He was so excited...this picture doesn't show his true excitement but boy was he happy to be allowed in the diving well area. To pass the band test you have to swim one lap of the pool and tread water for 60 seconds. At first he got halfway and then decided he didn't want to do it but we encouragged him to try it and that he could do it and he did it again and succeeded. Go Connor, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.
Connor's video of him swimming in his first time trials for the swim team before he decided to not do it anymore. He just couldn't stand to be cold in the water and would just cry at the end of the lane for 45 minutes straight every practice. He kept saying can't I just do the races and not do practice and we just couldn't get it through enough to him that you have to practice hard to get better. Don't know if we will try swim team again but he did do a great job in his first race.
Mara and her little girlfriends. I hope she has a life long friendship with these girls just like I have with their Mommy's. I have been friends with Kristen and Mel for over 20 years and even though we may go a while with out talking as soon as we get together it is like we were never apart. These are the girls that know and love you inside and out and are there for you no matter what and I hope Mara gets to have that type of relationship with these two little girls just like us. They don't get together that much but when they do they are three peas in a pod! Mara with Mel's daughter Addi and Kristens daughter, Gianna.
Mara having a good time on the teeter totter with her bestest friend in the entire world, her sister! I am so glad that she will always have a best friend by her side. They really do love playing together and sometimes they love torturing each other too.
Mara being just like Mommy and already starting to sun her self! Just relaxing on a beautiful day outback on the deck! AWE!
Meghan is a trooper when it comes to picking blueberries. We had our round two trip to Moods Farm to pick berries and we picked almost 4lbs of blueberries. She just sits at the edge of the trees and picks the berries and puts them in her bag. Her motto is pick one, eat two! It was the most beautiful day on Tuesday for picking and we had a great time together while Mara and Connor were at VBS.
Meghan has hit another milestone....She is now 19 months old....never got to blog when she turned 18 months but she has her 18 month well visit next week so I will update everyone on her growth. As far as her social and motor skills she is right on with her developement. She is finally walking and we haven't seen her crawl ever again since she stepped one foot in front of the other two weeks ago. She still webble wobbles but loves to walk everywhere.
Meghan's likes:
Favorite activity: Swinging on the swingset outback
Favorite food: go gurt yougurt and blueberries
Favorite drink: apple juice and chocolate milk
Favorite toys: princess shoes, barbies, guitar, baby dolls, stroller and ride on toys and of course she still loves to be the passenger in the escalade
Favorite words: "Maaaaaamaaaa" screaming at the top of her lungs when she wants something or more food! She loves to say "hi" really loud to especially at the food store. She can repeat a lot of words we say like ball, more, oes(shoes), nite nite, ahhh, ouce(juice) as she hangs on the fridge door, athe(bath) she absolutely loves the bath. She tries to float on her back and splash all around just like Mara. She also loves to say Paaaa-Pap for her Pop-Pop. It comes out sounding like bopbop!
Sleeping habits: Meg is still a great sleeper. She naps everyday for at least two to three hours and goes to sleep at 6:45-7 and wakes up at 7:00-7:30am every morning.
She loves to play and adores her big sister and brother.
