Mara and Meghan were my only troopers this year and thank goodness I went picking all on my own a few days prior. It took us about 1 hour to get 1 quart of strawberries. Meggie was eating everything in sight...as if that is not a surprise! Mara was trying really hard to get the perfect berry but it was nearing the end of the season and the crop was 70% lost because of the late frost we had, but we still managed enough berries to enjoy and make a ton of jam!

My Sweet little berry eating baby!
Mara picking....Meggie still eating!
and the eating still continues!
Finally, a good patch of berrries all clumped together. As you can see not very big but boy were they sweet to eat.
Strawberry jam is in the cooker....ten minutes to go and it will be pressurized and then it takes about 12 hours to completely set. This year every single jar I made popped right away and set fast.
A few weeks ago I took the girls strawberry picking and then we came home and made 24 jars of delicious strawberry jam.
We went to our first Phillies Game of 2012...they lost and it rained but we still managed to stay to the middle of the ninth inning and the kids were happy to get their prizes. Mara got a philly phanatic doll and connor got a new helmet. Poor Meggie didn't get to go but next year she will join in the fun.
The kids are enjoying are warm weather and the fact that summer is finally here. Our swinset is up and they are enjoying every minute of playing on it and in between swinging they are having fun with their baby pools and water guns.
Mara gearing up to get a good shot on Connor...Just look at that face.
Boom....gotcha!
Meghan and Mara having a good time together watching Connor's baseball game!
