This Past Weekend we lost a special person to many people, Aunt Helen, you will surely be missed by everyone. You were an amazing Mom, sister, wife, grandmom, great grandmom, aunt, and friend to everyone and always went above and beyond to make sure everyone in your company was having a good time and being taken care of to the highest level. We all know that your life wasn't the same after you lost your husband, Uncle Ray, a few months ago and the lord was ready to bring you to be with him. It has been such a hard weekend to know that it had to happen so soon and quickly but we all know you are at peace and as Dad said you weren't afraid of dying and were at peace with the lord. Just like my sister said, "God received another one of his most precious gifts. A lifetime of great memories that will never be forgotten. My Childhood was blessed because you were a part of it."
We love you Aunt Helen, you will be missed!
My Aunt is an Angel
My aunty is an angel,
I know she’ll never leave,
She’s watching me right now,
She’s the light that’s guiding me!
She was a fabulous woman,
So beautiful wise and true,
It's for those very reasons
She's helping me get through!
There’s memories left in my heart,
Because there she’ll always remain.
She'll be with me throughout my life,
Until I see her once again!
She was young in terms of nannies,
In terms of knowledgeable Mums,
But I know my cousins will remember her,
'Cause she’s our number one.
She was my friend, my aunty,
She was like my second mum.
It’s the reason I'm writing this,
To thank her for all she's done.
Not a day goes by,
Where we don’t spend a minute or even two,
Thinking about all the times we shared,
And everything we used to do.
Our lives are not the same without her,
For she touched all of our hearts.
That's why we'll never forget,
That’s why we're never far apart!

And so fitting an Angel, for when I first got the phone call from my mom on Saturday morning I knew the news would be that she had passed and I was on a 16 mile bike ride with a bunch of girls from my tri club and one of the girls heard my conversation with Mom and I was so upset that she was really gone that at that moment the one girl looked at me and said, just look where we are standing and it was right at Angelic Farms and there were two Angel statues in the field. I was over come with a sign from God that you are an angel now and by your side is your best friend and it was that moment that gave me peace to know that you are okay and we will be too.

Daddy with Aunt Helen in Punta Gorda
I will always remember the greatest heart you had and your wonderful laugh. You always made me feel so special and always praised me for helping you out when we were there visiting.Sometimes slipping me a twenty dollar bill and telling me not to tell anyone how much you appreciated all of my help. I will never forget your wonderful secrets of putting butter on our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before we headed to the beach for the day to keep our bread from getting soggy and all your gourmet amazingly wonderful meals that you cooked for us because it always had to be over the top and now I know why you did the things you did for who ever was visiting because I now like to do the same when people stay here too! We all loved coming to your house for our yearly visits usually around Easter or summer time spending time with our cousins and just sharing memories. I can remember like it was yesterday laying on your living room floor bending my legs back and forth and you telling me to stop cracking my knee cap because it wasn't good for my legs to do that. But we just laughed all the time and enjoyed all the walks down to the water and in the woods being kids, Jess and I trying not to let Ryan get us into trouble. I know as we got older and times changed, Jess got married and started a family, I got married and started mine, and Ryan got married and started his own too, it wasn't as easy for us to come and visit, and you and Ray were getting older and traveling here had to come to an end, but even though we didn't get to see each other a lot my memories of you being such a wonderful Aunt to me will always be close to my heart. I love you.
Uncle Ray at Mom and Dad's house in Punta Gorda catching a fish. One of my fondest memories of Uncle Ray was going crabbing at the inlet near their house in Jacksonville Beach. He loved to go boating and take us down to the water.
