WALT DISNEY WORLD
2011
DAY 1
SUNDAY MAY 1,2011
Kelly,Don,Connor,Samara,Meghan,Mimi,Poppy,PopPop,Aunt Joan and Uncle Doug
MAGIC KINGDOM
To start the trip off right the guy at the gates never scanned our tickets through the turnstiles as it came to find out when we tried to get a fast pass for Peter Pan so Good Luck Strike #1....WE GOT AN EXTRA FREE DAY AT A PARK....HORRAY FOR US!
The Castle on Main Street and all of us trying to get our first Family picture in Disney World.
Successful!!!
As soon as we got there it was all Decisions...Where should we go first, Do we want to do Dumbo, ride the race cars, Get Ice Cream...MMM ...What should we do... Connor says, "Ride the Race Cars", So that's what we do and it was our very first ride in Disney World. We never did make it on Dumbo...Who goes to Disney World and Doesn't ride on Dumbo....What is wrong with that picture...we all know about Dumbo, but we didn't want to wait in the 40 minute line, so we will go on that next time... WHEN CONNOR IS TEN, MARA IS 8 AND MEG IS FIVE AND NOT A DAY BEFORE THAT...Connor had the most fun out of everyone on our trip. He didn't see the craziness and stress of Disney. All he saw was the excitement and thrill of going on ride after ride and seriously being in the Greatest Place on Earth for a five year old kid. He was all smiles from the time we got on the plane to the second we left Florida. He loved every ride and said that everything was the greatest and best thing he ever did.
OF COURSE AFTER OUR FIRST RIDE AND EXTREME EXCITEMENT WE HAD TO DO WHAT WAS OF NEXT IMP0RTANCE ON OUR LIST AND THAT WAS TO START BUYING THINGS AND EATING EVERYTHING WE SAW. SO SWIRLY POPSICLES IT IS!
After we got done our first snack of the day, we tried to fight the crowds(P.S. Don't do Magic Kingdom on a weekend, big mistake...we went back on Wednesday and it was completely dead)and bypassed Dumbo, got a fastpass for Peter Pan and ended up on our second ride about an hour later. It's a small world, which of course is still one of my favorites. It was definetely Mara's favorite ride. Her face was priceless as she watched all the dolls, lights, music and everything there is to take in for a three year old on this ride. She just loved it so much.
So some may say it's the most annoying song and ride in the world, but Mara thought it was the most mesmerizing thing she has ever seen and heard.
IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL
It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all
There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all
There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world
Meg's favorite part of Disney was of course Eating....Strolling... and more Eating!
THAT IS MORE FEET EATING...SHE FOUND HER FEET AND LOVES THEM TO PIECES.
AND CONNOR, TOO!
Mara says Finally Mommy and Daddy, All I have wanted all day and it's Finally Here
but wait a minute, mmm, "do I really want to get down out of Aunt Joan's arms and go over to these big people, I'm not so sure about all of this"
"I think I'll be okay if I just stay right here, I won't get too close and Minnie will still be able to sign my book"
"Still not so sure, but here comes Mommy to let me know that it is all okay"
Connor on the other hand can't get enough of all the characters and the autograph book. He was first in line to see them all.
Chip and Dale
Pluto
Mara decides that she wants an autograph but doesn't want to get any closer so she throws her pen over to Pluto so he can sign her book, but won't get closer to him.
Pluto trying to tell Mara that it's okay and come on over and get your picture with your brother.
Getting wet in the fountains is so much fun...especially when you are tired and hot!
ANIMAL KINGDOM
On our way to the safari ride we spotted a tiny little bunny rabbit and Mara squatted right down next to him and they just looked at eachother and nobody moved. The bunny was so adorable and Mara loved looking at him.
After we finished watching the awesome lion king show we got to meet and greet all the characters outside the theater. Connor got in line with goofy first, then we saw Donald Duck and after that they had enough and were hungry so off to eat more hamburgers and french fries.
Goofy enjoying a moment with Meghan. Meghan's first real interaction with a Disney Character.
Connor just wanted to take a break from walking around and riding rides and all he wanted to do was play games. So we said okay lets play a few games and then we can head back to the pool. Connor and Mara threw a few balls on the colored rings and got some stuffed animals that we luckily got to bring home to new jersey. Connor loves his new orange turtle and Mara picked a black bat(go figure).
Dinner with Gramma and Grampa
Chevy's Mexican Night(just a few days shy of Cinco De Mayo)
Connor had so much fun hanging out with Mommy watching the Laua from our balcony. He made me make him a noisemaker so he could cheer and pretend he was playing drums too. He loved watching the girls dance and the guy throw up the fire.
Day Three
Back to Magic Kingdom
The buzz ride was a huge hit. Not only was there not a line but it was a great, fun ride for all of us. Of course Don mastered the shooting and got more targets than any of us but it was still a lot of fun to try to shoot the targets. Me and Mara just had fun spinning our cart around in circles.
The kids are patiently trying to hang in there while waiting for buzz to sign their books. Connor was so excited to see him, he could hardly wait. Of course I was watching from afar yet once again feeding Meghan right before she had a major blowout and ruined my tan shorts. No one tells Mommy that she should pack an extra pair of clothes too, just in case. Ha,ha!
Like Father, Like Son. You think these two boys are having fun watching the Mickey Celebration Show at the castle, mmm.... Connor looks mesmerized and Don just looks like, "when are we getting out of here"
Personally, I loved the show in case you were wondering and I think Mara enjoyed it just as much with her Mimi holding her. I loved watching her eyes and smile as she saw all the characters and watched with that little light in her face, it was awesome.
Afer a long day, they were tuckered out. Mara loves to sleep with Connor and practically sleeps on top of him. No wonder Connor says he doesn't like it when Mara jumps in his bed at night. Better him than us, sometimes. They just look so cute snuggled up close to eachother.
to be continued...again
