On Saturday April 23rd we all went over to Jess and Dave's to celebrate Carson's fifth birthday. It's crazy how far he has come since the day he was born 5 years ago. We are so grateful that he is such a strong and determined boy and is growing up to be such a big boy. Carson had an army party and it was a lot of fun for all the kids. They played a few games in the basement, did a long jump, a high jump, destroyed a pinata, and played pin the army man on the target game. They also decorated cool masks to wear during the Happy Birthday Song. Then after cake we went outside to play dodge ball and run around for a bit.

Easter Sunday
We woke up to a great morning with the kids and their extreme excitement that the Easter Bunny had arrived and left eggs all over the house. They first spotted the two eggs that were on the kitchen table from the banister upstairs and couldn't wait to get downstairs to see where else the eggs were hidden. Then they spotted their baskets and it was time to look through them before finishing the egg hunt.
After breakfast we went to church and Pop Pop met us there and then we came home to have ham and egg salad sandwiches before going to Aunt Margarets and Uncle Carl's house for dinner and the cousins easter egg hunt outside which is always a lot of fun and so nice of Aunt Margaret to do for the kids.
Meghan enjoyed her first Easter and was a happy, smiley little girl all day long enjoying all the attention from everyone there. She looked so adorable in her Easter dress and both the girls wore the crochet sweaters that Jess and I wore as kids but they didn't have them on long because it was so hot out. I'm glad I got to put them on though at least for a little while. It reminded me of when Jess and I were little girls and they are really special to me. I am going to keep them in a very safe place so my girls can pass them down to their kids in the future. Uncle Carl of course cooked a fantastic meal of lamb and ham with all the great sides like asparagus, scalloped potatoes, corn casserole, cole slaw, bread and we finished the day off with a ton of delicious yummy desserts. It was a great Easter and we all had a good day.
Connor was so excited when he saw that he got a Phillies T-shirt. He said, "how does the Easter Bunny know us so well" Priceless!
And, of course Mara all she cares about is how much Candy she got and can she eat it now and all day long. She is a candy hoarder and would walk around all day with Candy in a bag attachd to her hip if we let her. Today she raided my car and chewed her first piece of gum and acted like it was no big deal and just kept chewing it and even kept it in her mouth while eating dorritos. Just crazy, her brother can't even handle chewing a piece of gum with out spitting out the saliva that forms from the juice in the gum and here she is a pro at it.
Our EasterBunny was very intelligent and every where he hid the eggs their were two in a spot so they had to share and give eachother one everytime they found them.
Mara's body traced by Amanda |
Amanda had a lot of fun with Peyton and Mara tracing them with chalk and then letting them trace her.
The cousins sure had a great time playing together. Wrestling, running, batting, tracing, yelling, fighting, screaming, all the joys of being children.
Such a great day filled with all the joys of Easter and Being together with our Family.
