We went away with Mimi and Poppy to Singer Island, Florida. The kids loved our Memorial Day weekend vacation. We had such a good time swimming, floating, golfing, eating, and splashing around! The weather was spectacular, high 80's everyday and sunny! Meg loved the beach, especially building sandcastles. Connor and Samara had more fun at the pool because they had other kids there to play with but meg was still apprehensive around the water. We are trying to teach her how to swim and I'm hoping this summer she will get the hang of it.

Don cleared the backyard and the landscapers brought in topsoil and seed and we had some trees trimmed. Hoping to get some grass soon so the kids to have a place to play ball.
Thursday: played at the pool all day, we had dinner at the poolside restaurant. Poppy enjoyed his rumrunners and don and I had a quiet dinner by ourselves enjoying mojiotos and margaritas. Mimi took the kids miniature golfing. After dinner, don and I walked a few miles exploring the town. We went to the sailfish open air market and looked at houses.

Friday: way too much sun and fun! We spent hours on the beach and hours at the pool. Poor Mara and Connor had too much sun and got a little prickly heat. Kids had fun boggie boarding and floating in the clear blue ocean! After swimming all day we all went to sailfish for dinner. Samara was so worn out at dinner all she wanted was her Daddy. We decided that we should take a day off from the sun on Saturday so it was the perfect day to visit gramma and grampa in Miami!
Saturday: we headed out around 10am for Miami and it took about 1 1/2 hours to get there. We went to the mandarin for lunch, took a ride on the trolley to get gelato at amore, and then went back to grammas house. When we got back to the hotel the kids wanted to night swim. We ordered pizza and the kids went swimming while me and meg watched a movie at the pavilion and shared popcorn.
Sunday: we spent most of the day at the beach since it was our last full day there. Mimi made us hotdogs on the beach for lunch. The kids and Daddy played chase and tow with the boggie boards for hours. We stayed in swimsuits all day and night. We played mini golf and had a nice dinner at the hotel. We ate ribs, wings and fries.
Monday: we got up early and packed:(
