PICK YOUR OWN STRAWBERRIES!
Today we went to Duffield's Farm Market with a few friends to pick strawberries. We picked 14 lbs of strawberries and it was a great time had by all of us. The kids really enjoyed going up and down the rows looking for the really red berries. I made 9 jars of jam tonight and still have a ton of strawberries left to eat, make yummy desserts and freeze for later in the year. Connor was a big help this year actually picking strawberries instead of eating them to help me fill our flat a little faster. I think we picked all our berries in about 35-40mins. I only had to go about 20feet from where I started picking to fill the entire flat, definitely a great picking day. On the other hand, Mara didn't contribute one single strawberry to the pile. I did find a half eaten one when I was cleaning them, so I'm sure that was her lonely contribution. She definitely found it more fun to just pick and eat right away. She did look really cute in her outfit and hat so that just about makes up for not helping out much. I think all the strawberries that she ate today had a crazy effect on her, because ever since she woke up from her nap today she has done nothing but cry and if she didn't get her way she just screamed. What a way to tire Mommy out tonight!
