First Two Weeks of April....

Our Trip to D.C. to See the Cherry Blossoms
The kids love to spend time with their Uncle Andy and visit D.C. We stopped to see our friends in the pond, but like the Cherry Blossoms their were not many ducks in the pond. Mara kept eating her bagel instead of feeding it to the water... definitely a smart cookie. I would have done the same thing.
Taking a look at the pool again on the roof of Andy's house. We can't wait for July 4th so we can go swimming and BBQ up there.
Samara just loves to run around and look at all the tall buildings. You can see a fantastic view of the Capital and the Washington Monument from the roof. The boomers this year are definitely going to be a fun time.

Time for the Cherry Blossom Parade and Festival
Well, unfortunately we were a week too late due to the bad rain and wind storm last Thursday night. I was pretty bummed that from over 2000 trees only about 6 still had their blossoms. We still had fun and took some great pictures. As for the parade we couldn't get close enough to see much, but could hear all the music and smell all of the cooking from the Japanese food.

Kids trying to be funny. Their was a photographer a few feet away from us taking some photo shoots of a family and when we got there they just stopped and started laughing at our kids. They are just too cute.

The one and LONELY cherry blossom tree that survived the storm.

Uncle Doug and Aunt Joan are here from Florida for a visit and are getting totally worn out from the kids. Today Connor played soccer with Uncle Doug for a straight two hours and I'm sure they are taking a much needed nap right now at Pop-Pops. Mara had fun showing off her TuTu that Mimi made for her which crazy Uncle Doug tried to wear on his head. Hopefully one day soon I can catch Mara in a good mood for a little photo shoot.

Last week it was so hot outside the kids wanted to try out their new pool. Can I ask myself why I decided it would be a good idea to buy this gigantic family size pool. I am totally regreting it. The thing takes up so much room and we can't even get it blown up. I tried to go to Wawa to use thier air compressor but the pool is too big to fit in the car. We need to get an air pump, but just haven't done that yet. At least the kids didn't care that only about a 1/4 of the pool was filled. They still had a blast using it as a slip n slide.

Easter Sunday
It was so nice to have Easter with my Parents and Don's Dad and all of the cousins and Aunts and Uncles. We all brought side dishes and my Uncle cooked a fantastic dinner of Ham, Lamb, and Lauren made a great Lasagna. The kids had a fun Easter Egg Hunt and Aunt Margaret gave us a great Easter Basket filled with all kinds of goodies.

Mara actually let me get a few pictures of her with the bow in her hair. One day she will let me put these in, I swear all the beautiful bows that my Mom makes and she won't wear a single one of them.

Connor's Easter Basket

Mara's Easter Basket
I was so sick the week of Easter that I had Don do all the organizing for the kid's baskets and look what happened. I don't think I ever got an Easter display that looked like this. It was practically Christmas.
