The Spirit of Christmas...

There’s something about Christmas that brings cheer like no other time—the lights, the carols, the treats, the giftsand the Savior being born.

We
We ventured out to find the perfect Christmas tree and found it at a farm in Mullica Hill for only $30. The best part was the girls cut it down for us and the owner put it on our roof and even tied it down. No worries on our end, if our tree would make it home safe! Thanks to my friend Jodie at work who told me about this awesome farm on Ferrell Road. It is U Cut Tree Farm and all trees are the same price no matter how big or small. The kids even got coloring books when we left. Everyone was so nice there, so Don and I decided that this is a new McMahon family tradition from now on each year.

Connor was really into watching the girls trim our tree and cut it down. Of course I was more interested in having some pictures for our blog. There were seriously hundreds of trees to chose from. We were torn between a tall and skinny tree or a shorter, fatter tree. We ended up going with the shorter, fatter tree and so glad we did because it really isn't that short. I think we are only two feet off the vaulted ceiling. When we got home we put the tree up and lights on and will decorate it later this week.
Mara being funny and sticking out her tongue. We really tried hard to take our Christmas card photos but like every other year eventually you just take what you can get!
On, Friday night we took the kids to see Santa and while waiting in line Connor and Mara were really anxious to sit on his lap, but as time got closer, we knew there was no way Mara was getting on his lap. Once again, another photo of Mara screaming on Santa's lap.
Connor made a picture book for Santa and was really excited to give it to him so he could take it back to the North Pole. He told Santa that he wanted a big bike and roller skates. Santa told him that he had to be a really good boy in order to get what he wants on Christmas morning. Although, I did have to call Santa twice today for not listening!
What a great family photo if Mara would only keep the bows in her hair. Yet again another photo of her pulling out her bows.
Proof that Mara actually sat on Santa's lap for a few seconds. Still nevertheless a great time and really got us all into the Spirit of Christmas. We got to listen to some good old fashioned Christmas songs at church today and then topped it off with getting our tree. Now to the busy, jammed packed days of December. OH WHERE, OH WHERE, DO THE DAYS GO! I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET IT ALL DONE!
