Weekend Wrap Up!

Our First Fall Weekend

Well, we definitely had a busy weekend, of course nothing but fun and adventure! Don had a very busy week by far. He had three interviews this week and we are still keeping our fingers crossed that he will stay at UMDNJ in New Jersey so we don't have to move. His first interview was in Westgrove, Pa(which he really liked, beautiful area so that is a plus), the second interview was in Lebanon, Pa(I think he seemed to like the group a lot, but don't know if the area is what we are exactly looking for....very desolate), his third interview was at UMDNJ here in Stratford, NJ(he loved it, they basically told him how much he is loved there and want him to stay and will try to come up with the best competitive salary possible for him to stay there)! Can't get any better than that for the start of our weekend!

Friday I took the kids to Kohls to take advantage of my 30% off coupon and got a few great deals. I bought Mara 5 shirts for the winter on the clearance racks for about $3 a shirt. I found a few pairs of sneakers for me and the kids and stocked up on future sizes for them for the spring and summer next year. I got myself another pair of running sneakers....for the Spacecoast Half Marathon that I just signed up to run in Florida while I am there visiting over Thanksgiving. I will be running with my brother and sister in law! so anyway back to my sneakers that I got for $29.99. I know you probably are thinking what, running sneakers, how good can they be, but they are the exact same shoe(different color) as my previous $79.99 shoes that I got in May. They must have discontinued the color and the only ones left were the display in a size 8. So, it was totally meant to be if you ask me! Friday night we took a ride to the Christmas Tree Shops in Delaware and then went to Red Robin for dinner. Don't know if I would eat there again, Holuihanns has far better french onion soup and the food there was just okay.

Saturday I got up early and ran 10 miles with my friend Kim. When I got home Don just was relaxing watching football, so I ventured out with the kids to IKEA to browse around and found the curtains that I have been searching for high and low for the dining room. They were only $14.99 for a pair. I figured that I would wait to put them up, but Don was just as excited as me to get rid of the vertical blinds that are falling down by the day, that he installed them as soon as we walked in the door. Well, almost as soon as we got home, forgot to mention the pit stop I made at Tony Luke's on the way home for cheeseteaks, YUMMY! After we got done hanging the curtains, we spent the rest of the day relaxing, playing, bikeriding to the park and watching football. Connor got to watch the Logan Lions play at the field and even saw a touchdown!

On Sunday we went to church(next week should be very exciting as our church kicks off their first of five marriage series sermons, so if you are not busy and want advice on how God works in your marriage please come and listen to Pastor Mark give our marriages advice on five topics of marriage) and afterwards we headed to Sesame Place with the Burgo's. The kids had so much fun. Connor said his favorite part of the day was the parade and touching all the characters hands. The smile on his face was absolutely priceless. He was dancing all around just taking it all in. They had their trick or treat spooktacular there, although we only got one treat. The park was really crowded since it was such a beautiful day and we spent more time waiting in lines than searching for trick or treat locations. The kids got to ride the balloon ride and carousel, which is one of their favorite rides. When we got home from Sesame Place the kids were exhausted so it was dinner and bedtime for them. Connor was laying in bed and he got up to say his legs were sore and he thought he needed to be "doctored" right away, so I put a band aid on his knee and off to bed he went.
