Sesame Place!

We attempted the should have been non-attemptable! If that is even a word for going to Sesame Place with two kids and only one parent. Hey, even if you're with a friend, it is still too hard to handle on your own. Although, it was exhausting for me, the kids had fun splashing in the wave pool and jumping around in Count Draq's Splash World. I took Mara down a tiny slide and Connor went down a few times by himself. It was by far probably the most crowded day of the summer. I think every camp was there with all the kids that should have been at Great Adventure instead of Sesame Place. Our high points of the day were:

1. Mara's first ride. She went on the carousel and had a smile from ear to ear the entire time. It was so adorable. My little munchkin is growing up. I didn't even have to hold her on the ride. She just sat on the horse all by herself buckled in and holding on to the bar. As soon as it started moving up and down she said, "wheeeee..."

2. Connor had a great time at the wave pool. He know swims under water and uses his arms and legs to get around. It was very safe at only two feet deep, so at any time he could just stand up. He swam for probably over an hour and then we went to watch the parade.

3. I came home and asked Connor what his favorite part of the day was and he said, "ELMO". They both loved the Elmo live show. I can't wait to take them back for the new show they are having in the fall.

So, yes we are going to go back, but Don will be coming with us. I decided to buy the passport passes for Don, myself, and Connor to save money. As of August 1, 2009 they started their special that if you bought passport passes they were good for the rest of this season and all of next year too. I went hunting online for a coupon code and pretended to be a senior using the code SesameAARP and it worked. All in all I saved almost $15 dollars on all three passes. The passes pay for themselves on your third trip, so it was a better deal than to spend $48 per person for a two day pass and then if we do decide to go next year which I'm sure we will go at least once, It won't cost us anything. We have so much more to see and do. We didn't get to go on hardly any of the water rides. I want to do the lazy river, the water slides, the tube slide, etc. Connor got to do most of the stuff in the dry area, but he didn't get to climb on the nets or do the roller coaster or the flying fish, I guess we skipped a lot. Well next time we can do all of that. Our passes also cover the $15 parking fee, which is a perk in itself.

On another note, Mara is really doing well playing independently and is fantastic at using her fine motor skills. She can now pull open the heavy bottom drawer and get out all the sippy cups, match up the lids and screw on the lids. Then after she lines them all up she takes sips out of each one of them. This is usually what she does when I am cooking breakfast or dinner. So much for that kitchen set. I think she has played more with the cups then the kitchen.

OKAY seeing Sesame Place seriously makes me homesick for Philly. I can't believe we lived like 10 miles from there and now live in Harrogate TN. Life is a ride for sure. Glad to see you guys had fun.

Hey, it has been for every since I have left a comment, but no forever since I have looked at your blog. Good for you for doing races again. I did my first 5K in April I think it was. I loved it and I want to do many more. Since then thought we have decided to move to Oregon and life has been a whirlwind. We are actually moving on September 26th. I recently bought the Nike + and they have a thing you can put it in to attach to your shoes. That way you don't have to buy the Nike shoes. I LOVE IT! You should look into it since you are a much more hard core runner than I am. Anyway, you are an amazing person who really has her life put together. You should venture to Oregon!

Oh, any interest in running the Ragnor in Utah next year with my sisters and I? We are putting together a team. It's a 24 hour relay and you get a car and you each take turns running and sleeping. Each person runs 3 legs and each leg is at least 4 miles some are 6-7. Let me know.
