A great Party and I can't believe I actually pulled it off 6 days before delivery!

 SURPRISE, TIME TO PARTY!

DON'S 40TH SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY
 TOTALLY PRICELESS FACE!

 One surprised Daddy!
Events of the day
We had soccer for Connor(he scored 3 goals) and then we all came home to get things organized. It worked out perfectly, Don was on call with coverage for the afternoon and evening. I surprised him with a massage for his birthday and I was getting a pedicure so we had an out for the house to be prepped for the big celebration. I just got lucky that Don was at the hospital rounding for quite a while and it gave me a lot of time to get things organized so that my brother could just put things right into place. Mike and Emily got here a little early and Don was still at work so we had about 10 minutes for me to go over all the detailed instructions and boy were they detailed. I left him a two page instruction sheet with step to step directions on what to do for the party but was informed when I got home that I forgot to mention anything about the kids and at 10pm Connor was still awake and said "you know Mommy, we never had dinner tonight." Opps, forgot to put that on the instruction sheet. My kids don't always ask to be fed and I guess it just slipped my mind. I'm sure they ate enough appetizers and junk to fill them for the night because nobody woke up crying for food. Don got home just about 3pm and our appointments were at 3:45 so we were quickly on our way to be pampered. Much needed by the stressed out 381/2 wk pregnant momma. After our spa outing, we decided to grab something to eat because I needed to kill a little more time so we stopped at Pizzeria Uno for some pizza and then headed to babies r us to get some things for baby bundle #3. Time flew by and before I knew it the time was 6:40 and we were still in the store. I suddenly started to panic and told Don we needed to leave right away so I could get home because I had to go to the bathroom and kept getting awful braxton hicks contractions. So we checked out and with Don driving were exactly on time at 7pm for the big Surprise. He had absolutely no clue and everyone did an awesome job of parking past the house and he never even noticed 50 cars on the street. It was awesome! We walked in and everyone shouted Surprise and Don looks at me thinking this was some sort of set up for me and I said, "no,this is for your birthday, remember you just turned 40" He says, " but, how are all these people here, I don't even have any friends, must be all of Kelly's friends" Totally adorable, he forgets that he still has the friends that really matter most and all of his work colleagues who love him to death and think he is the funniest person ever to work at UMDNJ. I have to say he was really happy that I did this for him and had a great night with lots of laughter and good times. Thanks to my brother, Emily, Robin, Stas, and my sister for helping me to put everything together for such a wonderful night. I couldn't have pulled this off with out all of you!
The gathering Don saw as he walked in the door.
Don chatting it up with his partner, Dr. Cheisa
"The embarrassment of the birthday boy"
 "The wonderful Woolwich couples"
 "the girlie girls"

I thought I did a really good job of trying to capture all the guests and somehow missed some of the most important ones. Two of Don's bestest friends, Tom and Steve. I found a picture with Tommy and his wife Kelly in the background so I'm happy to say at least their is proof that Don does still have a few good ones out there. Tommy and Steve were one of the last to leave which definitely has to say something about a great friend! Thanks to Jenine and Mandy for posing in this picture so I could capture Don's friends in the background! Yay!

Don is definitely having a good time here. Laughing it up at something. Just wanted to capture all of our delicious food displayed on the table. We catered the party from a place in West Deptford called In a Pickle. It was really good and the owners are superb there. Everything was so good and they supplied everything from serving dishes to the plates, forks, napkins, etc. I would definitely recommend them for your next occasion.
