Samara pulled through tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy with ear tubes like a rock star!

We headed in to DuPont at 10:30 and by 12:00 she was completely done surgery and in recovery. She slept most of the day and then woke up to watch a movie and have some dinner(French fries) and eat candy with uncle mike and then fell asleep around 8 pm till 3 am. From 3am to 6 we had a new roommate so needless to say they were restless hours. She only complained once about her throat being sore and was really groggy from the anesthesia. After a few doses of pain meds she was feeling much better and of course the slurped helped a ton. She did get sick twice either from the anesthesia or the  tourdal meds.
She was definitely happy to see mommy and daddy after surgery. We felt so sad for our baby girl.
Having a fun time in the  pre-op  room.playing games and laughing with daddy who the nurses referred to as my fourth child!

Getting ready for some giggle juice...

The anesthesia fellow was incredible and Mara laughed a ton before she went in for surgery. He just kept telling us how great it is to see the kids on the giggle juice. She was really funny.
Mara and koala Both had bracelets for surgery. The OR staff prepped koala too!
Recovering....

Opening a cheer basket from uncle mike.. Candy! She was ecstatic!

The gourmet dinner, French fries, Mac and cheese, a Popsicle and juice, oh and the big carrot she didn't even touch.
Ahhh... No place like home!!!
We are so proud of you samara! You were a great patient, super strong and very brave! We love you to the noon and back!
Overall a great experience and couldn't be happier with her care from everyone at AI DuPont! Thank you to dr. Schmidt and Dr. Dorsey for your wonderful care!!
Post op check up:
Samara did great, both ears were clear and she could hear above average in both ears as well. After our appointment we celebrated by playing at the hospital park. The kids loved it there.

It was great to see the kids laughing and having a good time together. We can't believe summer is almost over and school starts next week.
My little monkey swinging around!
Weeeee! Yippee! Mara can hear me giggle and scream now!!!
