McMahon Updates

Spring is coming and so it is time for decluttering, reorganizing and anything and everything in the house. We are planning on getting someone in to paint the upstairs and staircase hopefully soon and we just finished rearranging the furniture in the living room to make better use of our space. So hopefully soon the next projects will be all upstairs and then when it really gets nice out we have to power wash out front, paint the railings and wood work on the porch and do a major clean up of our front yard from all the winter sticks and brush before we mulch this spring. I am also on a mission to get the kids a swing set for Easter too! Don is thank goodness beginning to feel more like himself again and hopefully has the diabetes and insulin intake under control. He has gained about 15 lbs back and is eating a ton more food. Don is constantly working hard and has been doing a ton of ercps lately and hopefully soon will be able to do them on his own so he doesn't have to do them after hours anymore. Don is looking forward to this baseball season with Connor as he will be the assistant coach for coach pitch which starts next Monday. Connor is so thrilled and can't wait to play and have Daddy there at all the practices and games.  Mommy is back into the craziness of running and just recently joined the Mullica Hill Tri Club and I plan on doing my first triathlon in July and my friend and I just decided that we are going to run our first marathon this year for our 35th birthdays in November. I am back to running and enjoying my long runs finally since having Meghan. At one point I was giving up on them and just figured I would get in what runs I could but now I found someone to do swaps with me and have been running 8 to 10 miles every Thursday for the past few weeks and hopefully that will continue. I am signed up for a 5 mile race in April and the  Broad Street 10 miler in May. I ventured out and did my first bike ride a few weeks ago with a friend and we did about 8 miles and then I swam my first laps last weekend at the gym pool with Connor as my sidekick. Connor is enjoying his first year of kindergarten and its crazy that we just got his order form for the school yearbook and his first year of grade school is quickly coming to an end. He is beginning to learn how to read more and more each day. He knows about 20 site words and has to read books each night before bed. He is looking forward to summer and plans on joining the swim team this summer. He is also looking forward to spring soccer and coach pitch which starts next week. His plans for the summer include visiting Mimi and Poppy and taking a trip to see Gramma at her new house in Miami. Samara is enjoying preschool and loves to tell us about her days and the kids in her class. She can recognize her numbers one to ten and is learning to write her name but saying and spelling it is still a challenge. It ends up as "SMRA" which is probably because she is always called Mara but we all try to get her to spell and say Samara. She is learning her moves for her first dance recital in May and is asking to do gymnastics for the fall. She is still our spit and vinegar but makes us laugh all the time at what comes out of her mouth. She is just too smart for us and often knows it. Mara keeps asking me when she can get a swing set in our yard, so I think we have to break down and start our hunt for a swing set and some level ground to put it on. Samara is going to continue swim lessons this summer with Aunt Jess and hopefully by the middle of summer she will know how to swim without swimmies. Meghan is going to be on a mission to learn how to walk and is going to enjoy fun days hanging out with Mommy and tagging along with Connor and Mara. She loves going to the park and swinging in the swings, she loves to listen to music and dance to it(bobbing her head back and forth) and by the end of the summer will be running all around chasing her brother and sister.

The new living room design(Poor Daddy, he lost the nice furniture and rug from his office)

Samara is learning to write her name at preschool. She is doing a really good job and they say what a great girl she is at school.

Meghan playing with her dolls and having a great time taking care of them and feeding them.
