My Preschooler is all finished and counting the days down to kindergarten already!

Didn't know whether to cry or smile because Connor is all finished preschool and he was so excited that when I came to pick him up all his friends were still playing and splashing around and Connor was all set to go with his towel around his neck waiting by the side of the parking lot. He was definitely ready to be done preschool and more importantly he was ready for the real fun to begin at the after party at Ana's house. Ana's Mom invited both classes back to her house for a celebration of the last day of preschool and all the kids had a blast in the pool and playing together. It was bittersweet because he woke up today and said, "You know Mommy, I really am going to miss Teacher Lori, when do you think I can see her again." She was definitely his backbone and shoulder to cry on during his rough days at the beginning of the year. She just has the most amazing personality and the sweet and gentleness of her just put Connor right at ease when he was feeling a little frightened or uneasy especially when the alarms went off or the police or fire department came for a visit. He has mostly grown out of being scared of the alarms but it only took about a good 6 months or so for him not to be phased by the school bells when you open the front door.

Connor on his first day of preschool
Connor on his last day of preschool. He is a big guy on his way to kindergarten and can't wait to get there. He is so excited to ride a bus to school and meet new friends and can't wait to find out who his teacher is and who will be in his class. I will  miss the small class at Richwood Preschool and the amazing people that I have met through his school. Mara is now getting ready to go there in the fall so I will still get to see everyone again come September. I hope Connor is able to stay in touch with the friends he has made throughout the year despite the four boys that were in his class are all going to different elementary schools.

OFF TO KINDERGARTEN
When I was small I was afraid
Teacher helped me, and art I made
I splashed in water, collected worms
Never knowing how much I learned
Pretending how to put out the fire
I was a prince, crown of bended wire
I practiced how to write my name
and soon enough it brought me fame
Exploring, discovering, creative play
Is what we did everyday
This was the greatest place to grow
Now off to kindergarten I will go
My head held high
I will try not to cry

Saying his goodbyes to Teacher Lori and Teacher Judy.

Big HUGs to his favorite teacher. He is really going to miss Teacher Lori and her sweet adorable cheery personality.
Splash and Celebration time at Ana's house. What a great way to end such a fabulous school year.
The Little Graduate

I'm a little graduate
Aren't you proud of me.
I know my numbers and ABC's
I made lots of friends and had fun too.
Now I'm off to the BIG KIDS SCHOOL!
