What a great Wednesday!

So I don't usually like to brag about my days with the kids or with out the kids but today was an exceptionally great day and I wish I had more days like this one. To start out my little boy had some homework on Monday to memorize his phone number and address and with two days of constant practice it is accomplished and he got his prize at preschool today. We are so proud of you, Connor. He is really taking this whole turning five thing to a new level. He is saying things all the time now like "this or that person can't do something because they are not five yet and I can do it by myself because I am five now and I am older than such and such friends." It is hysterical. I can't believe how fast a child's brain really takes things in and works so fast, it is amazing. So after I was excited about him learning his phone number and address we dropped him off at school and signed Mara up for a two day preschool class for next year and I hope they can change the "my way or the highway" child of mine. We shall see how that goes in the fall. I called Pop Pop to see if he wanted to come for dinner and he off erred to pick Connor up from school and gave me the afternoon off. I went to get my eyebrows waxed, went to Best Buy and BJ's all by myself. What a glorious afternoon. I scored big at both places. Spent only 1.36 at Best buy because of my coupons and bought a new mouse for the laptop and new ink for my computer since I love to print coupons and then saved almost $40 in coupons at BJ's. What a great feeling! Mara also had a play date today with a new friend Jessica. I met her mommy at the dentist office a few years ago and just so happens we had a lot in common and we both live in Mullica Hill and the girls will be in preschool together so we decided to start play dates for them. They had a good time together and Mara did a little bit better with sharing. Meghan was really good today too. She slept on a great schedule and was really happy when she was up. Playing on her play mat and just being a happy little, giggly girl. We had a great dinner and all the kids were asleep by 8pm. Another high point of my day is that I called the dentist office and am going back to work every other Monday from 4-8 starting in March. Hooray for mommy! I am excited to get back into a routine and look forward to just having a little time for me on those nights. My friend and I are going to do a swap so I won't have to worry about babysitting either so that is a plus. May not seem like the most glorious day in your eyes, but to me I had a wonderful day and that is all that matters.

"my little tap dancer"
aka: bubble popper
Daddy got more packages in the mail. big surprise there. I think our mail lady must secretly hate us because the deliverers between pipes, tobacco, coffee and miscellaneous are just out of control. Anyway, besides the deliveries they are good for some great entertainment and Mara proved that today with bubble wrap dancing and tons of smiles and laughs. She was so cute dancing and popping to the bubbles.

"Mommy thought it would be funny to put me in the shopping cart and then my brother and sister decided to take me for a ride. Don't they know I am fragile and only we,we little."-Meghan

Poor Megs, can't these people just leave me alone for once!

birthday boy update: preschool party on Monday

did I tell you all that Don is going into the cake business now...
He made great yummy cupcakes round two for Connor's birthday!
at school he got an awesome crown to wear the whole day to celebrate

of course Mara had to try it on because she doesn't get that it is only Connor's birthday and for every candle he blew out, every present he opened and everything he did she had to do too!
Once again, one of her books holds true. "It's all about me and I'm three"

and proof be told, there you have it!
