A MUCH NEEDED THANK YOU
I don't know exactly where to start to say how very grateful we have been for all the help my Mom and Dad have given us over the last couple of days. We both said we don't really know what we would have done if it weren't for them being here for the two weeks that they are staying to help us get adjusted to having three kids. It has been exactly one week now since Megan has blessed our family with more joy and laughter and I can say that we really can't imagine our lives with out her in them. It is like she was always meant to be with us and all the cuddles, hugs, tears, and everything else that comes with a newborn we just can't seem to get enough of her. I know my parents are enjoying being with the kids everyday and Connor and Samara are enjoying every single moment with their Mimi and Poppy. Dad has been an amazing help with things around the house, which we all know that my Dad is not one to sit around and doodle or just do nothing. He has high energy and always wants to be on the go( wonder where I get it from), seriously I can never just sit and enjoy the moment. The doctor gave me restrictions, but that only lasted for two days. I was going absolutely crazy not being able to sweep my floors. I know you would think having a baby would be an excuse to not have to clean, but its totally in my nature and nothing is going to stop me. As for my mom, she is totally addicted to doing laundry for some odd reason she has an obsession with washing clothes or hearing the dryer run. Don and my Brother in Law always make bets to see if she did any wash and oh boy is she doing wash. I think the second day I was home she must have done at least 10 loads of wash, from towels and sheets, to all the old 0-3 months girls clothes from the attic to all of our laundry from the weekend and their own laundry. I think I calculated hearing the dryer run from about 10 until 4 pm when she finally said I think I did enough today. Not to mention cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner, picking up all the toys, vacuuming, doing dishes, giving the kids their baths and dealing with the hardest thing we have to deal with by putting our sweet little Connor to bed at night. My mom religiously takes the kids outside any chance she gets if it is nice out to play ball and Frisbee and Connor just enjoys his time with his Mimi so much. Usually Mara is taking her naps at this point but she still joins in on the fun and if it isn't with Mimi it is with their favorite person in the entire world, their Pop-Pop, who at 78 years old does more for these two kids then anyone else can even imagine. My dad has so far painted Samara's room a very bright pink and Mara is loving every second of her new bedroom. He put all new switch plates in her room, hung all her pictures up and now it is fit for a princess(that is princess #1). He decided to put together the leaf blower which took about two hours and then spent almost 3 hours outside blowing the leaves away from the house, clearing the decks, the driveway, the porch and the walkway. All while blowing leaves, tagging along with Connor by his side, showing him the way on how the job is done. Connor had about the most fun he has ever had with his Poppy and I think he will never forget this day for as long as he lives. He has done the rounds of taking and picking Connor up from school and having the enjoyment of going out to lunch with just the two of them so they could enjoy milkshakes together and have fun bonding. Mimi has done countless runs with me to doctor's appointments for me and Meghan and it will only continue next week as more appointments creep up and Mommy still is restricted from driving and really has to follow these instructions. So all in all, we are so grateful for all the help we have been given, from the time Don's Mom and Chandler were here helping with the kids, to Pop -Pop and Uncle Andy for taking the time to play all day Saturday with the kids at the house and for Mimi and Poppy's extra long getaway from sunny Florida to give their all to help us. So from the bottom of our hearts we truly thank all of you.
Love, Hugs, and many kisses,
Don, Kelly, Connor, Samara and Meghan
