All the hard work, tears, worries and sleep less nights now gone, for we are finally living our dream together as a family with complete happiness!

Our New Home

We pray this home will be a place
Of serenity and peace
Somewhere to get away from all
The stress and pressing needs
And that this home will be a refuge
From life’s fast, and busy pace
With every room a reminder of
God’s awesome love and grace

Well moving day has come and gone and now a time to relax, enjoy good times, put your feet up and enjoy all that we have been given. Every time we pull up our driveway it is a constant reminder of how true the saying is that good things come to those who wait. Don has waited many years to finally have a great reward for all his hard work and I know deep down that besides his wife and children he has finally found his prize. He just lights up when he comes in the door and is so happy to be in a new home together, a home that we both choose together to love and make lasting memories with our children. It may take some time to get all the boxes unpacked and to get everything just perfect, but for now we are enjoying the laughter and smiles that are floating around our new home. The kids are having fun playing in all the rooms, riding their bikes in the driveway, picking rocks, and even having fun helping Daddy trim the ivy. Connor loves to be able to walk down the driveway to get the mail and likes to go by himself like a big boy. We had our first family dinner on Sunday night and cooking and baking have never been so much fun. I don't think I have left the kitchen since the day we moved in here. I sometimes wonder where all our stuff actually fit in our town house and half of it is still in the garage!

  This is all the unnecessary household items that sometimes you wish some of it was just thrown away before the move. Of course some things are still going to be used, but most of it if we haven't put it in its place is not much needed, at least for now!

Here the kids are riding their bikes and scooters in the driveway watching Daddy do yard work while Mommy sips her water on the step!

Our first family dinner together in the new home. I made a pot roast with potatoes, applesauce and a salad. It was very good and we all enjoyed sharing our first dinner together in our new kitchen.

Of course we couldn't let the living room go until last. We moved in Friday night and by Saturday the new furniture had arrived and our tech guy was on his way to install our new tv above the fireplace. We did decide to move the chaise lounge into the far corner to be used as a reading area so that is no longer in this spot and it looks so much better.

Don is going to pick up our last piece of furniture from Pier One tomorrow night and then our room will be complete except for the painting, which we will attempt this weekend. We are going to paint the living room ourselves and then eventually hire someone to do the rest of the house and hopefully when our family comes in while I am having the baby we can conquer the guest room and the kids rooms. As far as the kitchen, halls and stairs we need a professional to do those areas. I am really excited for Thursday as the kids furniture should be arriving sometime in the morning and then Mara will have her princess bed and Connor will be able to start his process of his Flyers room starting with his Flyers bedspread and orange sheets. He is so excited for his bookcase bed to be able to put his own clock in there and put his flyers figurines and bobble heads on the shelves.
