Connor's Birthday with Pop-Pop
"absolutely priceless" Connor had so much fun opening his presents from Pop-Pop yesterday. He got an official Flyer's Jersey with Bobby Clarke's number on the back and his name written on the back too. The look on his face when he opened the gift was just priceless. He just loves his Pop-Pop to pieces and was so happy to get the jersey. He did say after he opened it, "so when am I going to get the pants to go with it?" I think since Uncle Andy got him a Flyer's outfit and pants for Christmas that he thinks all jerseys now come with pants. He immediately went to get his hockey helmet and started playing.
Here is the Big Guy, All geared up and ready to play. I think the helmet weighs more then him.
For sure, this is one proud person who cherishes every moments with his grandkids.Today we went to the mall so I could get my passport renewed at the county store and on the way home Connor kept asking to go to the toy mall. I still haven't figured it out yet, but to calm him down because we weren't going to a toy mall I told him we would stop by and see Pop-Pop and he quickly forgot about the toy store. I now know why they love going there...all I need to say is about 3 pieces of chocolate each and a few lolly pops puts some big smiles on a little face! I keep telling Connor that his teeth are going to fall out of his mouth and on the way home from his house Mara was sucking on a lolly still and he said, "Mara, I just need to check and see if your teeth are still there." It was too cute.He is such a loving little boy and would do just about anything to protect his little sister. They have been walking around saying okay brother and okay sister just in normal conversation. I just love how much they get along and care for one another."All Smiles Today"
We just got Mimi and Poppy's Valentine's Day cards in the mail today and once again the kids love their dollar bills. Thank You so very much for adding another smile. Today we used two of Connor's dollars for two turns on the mini carousel at the mall. Mara got the most adorable bow from Mimi and I will be totally determined to keep it in her hair someway.
Lately she just won't have it.Every time I put a bow in her hair, she screams, "no bow, mommy", I have tried and tried again.
"A poem that reminds me of Pop-Pop and Mara"
You Are As Cuddly As
A New Born Kitten
Your Beautiful Smile
Gives My Life An Abundance
Of Heart Felt Joy
You Have Made The World
A Far Better Place
Just Remember:
As You Become A Young Lady
Many A Rainbow You Will Chase
But, Don't Let Life
Hurry Your Steady Pace
You Must Laugh And Love
Everyday
To Find Peace And Happiness
Along The Way
Seriously, sometimes I just think about how much I was blessed to have a little girl so that Pop-Pop could just have the greatest relationship with his granddaughter. His eyes just beam when he sees her. If he comes over to see the kids and she is just getting up from her nap, he automatically asks if he can go and get her because he just loves her to pieces and thinks she is so precious. Mara loves her pop-pop too. She is always giving him her food and drinks and loves to share everything with him. I keep telling Pop-Pop that is why he was sick all winter because he couldn't get enough of her. Thank goodness he didn't catch her last cold and we saw him today and he is still in the clear, so lets keep our fingers crossed.
