The Philadelphia Zoo with the Keith's
Today was the last Friday before all the kids get back to school and the kickoff to Labor Day Weekend. Summer will be officially over after this weekend, but the Fall will bring many new things to happen around here. I love the changing of the leaves, the smell of the fresh air with the windows open, pumpkins and mums, and most of all just getting back into a regular routine with the kids. I did decide not to send Connor to Preschool because the more Don and I talked about it and realized he will have the whole rest of his life to go to school and I won't get these precious years back. So we decided to just do MOPS and our regular weekly activities. I am going to try taking him to the library every Tuesday night again for story hour and craft and I'm sure we will stay busy with playdates, Museum visits, etc.
Thanks to Amanda, we spent $0.00 today and had a beautiful day at the zoo. We all crammed our carseats in one car to save on parking and the boys were really showing us how big they are getting by walking the entire time up until the end. We brought strollers for the little ones and Sully and Mara were great all day. Connor and Tyson had fun splashing in the water and playing together. Connor said his favorite part of the zoo was the lions, tigers and of course the Giraffe.
Connor was entertaining Mara and Sully in the new bird exhibit by putting the eagle on his face and pretending that he was flying around. Of course, by their expressions you can see they were really intrigued by his mask.
Nothing better than being Cheesy together. The kids had fun in the Children's Zoo feeding the ducks and goats. At one point Tyson and Connor were up on the stand at the barnyard petting zoo and the goats came directly face to face and they both jumped right off without even a care as to who was behind them. It was actually pretty funny. I tried to get Connor to go in and brush the goats with Tyson, but he didn't feel like it today. He just wanted to know when he could go ride on the tractor.

Of course, there aren't many pics of the little guys, but we still wanted to remember that they were there with us and being perfect little angels all day long. After the polar bears, the boys just gave up and couldn't walk anymore so we decided to call it a day. Mara passed out on the way back to the car, transfered still sleeping while the other guys chomped down on some snacks trying to fight the sleep. After about 10 minutes they were all asleep. Mara must have wondered why it was so quiet and woke up. She ended up fussing the entire way home. So much for that peace and quiet drive. It worked out well though. We got home, Connor remained sleeping on the couch until 4pm, We put Mara in her crib and she slept until 5pm and I even took a nap too.
