Nothing Like a Fall Day Spent Apple Picking!
We took a trip to Mood's Farm with my Mom's Club and got to go on a hayride and pick an 8lb bag of apples. So between the three of us, there were plenty of apples to go around. We have been eating tons of them and making yummy sweet things too. So, 24lbs of apples means tons of fruit flies flying around my kitchen. I went to playgroup last week and found out that keeping a glass of red wine on the counter does the trick. So now no more fruit flies, just a bunch of poor drowned fruit flies floating in a pretty wine glass. Next week I plan on going back to get apples so we can store applesauce and make apple butter for the winter and to give away as Christmas presents along with our jam that we made earlier this summer. I still have two huge ziplock bags of blueberries in the freezer for one cold winter day when a blueberry cobbler just might be calling my name.
And... Can you all believe it.... Mara actually let me put a bow in her hair. She just needs a little more to be able to wear them all the time. I can only leave them in for a little bit and then she notices that something is pulling on her strands.
