MY TWO BABIES IN THE PAST AND TODAY!

Connor in March of 2008: Treading back in Time!

Just was looking back on some old photos that I took last March and came across two pictures that really made me smile. Of course I could say that about all of them, but going back in time makes me really see how fast my little ones are growing up. This picture of Connor was taken in March last year when he was going through his obsession with playing with his fort. It is amazing what a cardboard box will do to a little boy's imagination. Don did an awesome job of making an incredible fort with windows and doors and even signs posted on the sides. He just looks so happy here and I thought sharing this with all of you would put a smile on your faces too.

Connor in March 2007:

What a cutie, Now can somebody please tell me why Connor has so much hair at this point in his life, but my little girl still has none! What is wrong with that picture. He got the most beautiful eyelashes, too. Not that I would ever want to change that, but I'm just saying that Samara would love to have the long lashes and of course the hair so that Mommy could put pretty bows and barrettes in everyday. It's amazing to see how much Don and I think Samara looks like Connor did in some old photos. Sometimes I think she looks more like me and then I see some pictures of Connor when he was her age and they look so much alike. This was just as Connor first started to walk at about 14 months old.

Connor in March 2009!

Yes, this is my little boy! Need me say more.
I bought this tutu for Mara a long time ago, but yet to have put it on her because Connor thinks that it is his. I think this particular morning I put Mara in tights and pretty dress and he wanted to wear a pretty dress too, so this was as close as I could come to make him happy. He is definitely going to be my future American Idol. He likes to put on fancy things and then grab his guitar and stool and start rocking out to any song that he feels like singing. This picture is just a classic because if you look close enough he has a tattoo on his arm trying to be a cool little boy, but in the same breath he loves to play " the I want to be a girl" role. I think right now he is just fascinated by anything that scream PINK in color. I use to stress over it, but now I just let him be because he just has such a great imagination and I couldn't imagine taking that excitement away from him. I will just save these pictures to show his future wife someday.

Samara in March of 2008!

What a pretty little smile my cupcake has. When I think back to a year ago some things seem like a blur. Just how can time actually go this fast. In this picture Samara was only4 months old and to think now she is 15 months old and walking, talking, playing and becoming a big girl. Mara is still to this day such an angel. I even took her for a well visit last week come to find out that her double ear infection never went away and I didn't even know it because she rarely complains about anything. I still feel like this was yesterday that I was putting her little Easter Ribbon in her hair getting excited for her first Easter Bunny visit. Easter was a lot earlier last year, so hopefully this year it will be actually spring like weather for our Egg hunt.

Samara in March 2009!

What a big girl she is! Mara is displaying her happy go lucky personality here. This photo just about sums up everything she is from the minute she wakes up until the second she goes to sleep at night. She is the easiest little person to make smile, giggle, coo, and even scream. It was really cute the other day in the car, Connor was pretending to scream and then Mara did it right back and we all started cracking up. Then mommy said to Connor stop screaming because it hurts my ears and then Mara did it again and Connor told Mara, "Stop it, it hurts mommy's ears". You just gotta love the things they pick up and repeat. I'm serious about that too, I really have to be careful because I could say something once to Connor and think he didn't hear me just say that and long and behold a day later he will be repeating me. So now Mara at 15 months old is walking almost 90% of the time and definitely enjoying this new way of getting around. I am trying to teach her new words everyday. So far she knows: Mama, Dada, bye-bye, hi, nana(banana) and of course I am saying everything to her seven times over so that she starts to understand different words. She is close to saying thank you or at least in her own little language. I will hand her something and she will shout something back at me so I like to think that it is a thank you.

So last week at Connor's and Mara's well visits they both were in the 10th-20th % for height and weight.
Connor: Height: 3 feet tall
Weight: 29 lbs
Mara: Length: 29 inches
Weight: 19 lbs
