Samara's Namesake
Before Mara was born we knew that we wanted to call her Samara and we wanted a middle name that was meaningful and sounded strong just like Connor Clarke. Since I got to pick Connor's first name it was only fair that Don got to pick the middle name. So when I got pregnant again, we had more names to think about. We were going to name the baby Samara if Connor was a girl and Don still really liked it the second time around so we decided to use it. So, the only name we had to think about was her middle name and since I really liked Reagan and thought about it for a first name we thought that would go great with Samara. So in the end Samara Reagan was the final name. Don has a strong republican background and one of his "heros" or all time favorite people happens to be Ronald Reagan. We were even at a bed and breakfast a few years back in Cape May when the president died and we stayed in all day to watch the funeral on televison, not to mention that it was raining out anyway, but besides that Don really wanted to watch this national event. So that is where Mara got her middle name. Uncle Andy and Uncle Dave are great at getting the kids things that relate to their namesake, hence the "Bobby Clarke" hockey shrine above Connor's bed(well the bed he doesn't sleep in) and now Mara's really cute Ronald Reagan motife. She got an adorable sweater jacket, doll and a stamped envelope from the Ronald Reagan Library. So now she has memorable things to let her know all about her namesake.
