MY RESOLUTIONS ARE OFF TO A GREAT START!

I can say I'm sorry for posting so many new blog posts all at once, but I am new at this still and it is hard for me to organize what I want to post and how to get it all on one post, so I am apologizing in advanced. I guess I should have just kept going all on one post, but I still can't figure out how to get the pictures with the right words when I am skipping around. I will have to talk to Nickie about that one, my blogging mentor and expert. If anyone has such an inspiring, cheerful, upbeat life it is her. I am so thankful to have met her way back when in the glorious days of Williamsburg Dental. Anyway, so where was I going with all of this, oh yeah, back to my New Years Resolutions. I have been so lucky this year to have started off to such a great job in meeting my resolutions this year. Thanks to my good friend Jess(as Connor would say "Lauren's mommy") she got me trained and moving on Quicken, so I am now very, very organized with our bank account and spending. I put Don on a $60 budget, so we will see when he will ask me for more money. I am refraining him from using his debit card for anything besides gas. I hope he abides by my craziness. So I can happily say my quicken account is to the penny with my bank account and I feel great about knowing how much money there will be at the end of the month so I can pay off some of our bills. As for my next happy resolution, I made it to the can-can sale, stocked up on huge savings of everything you "can-can" possibly imagine. My jelly cabinet is stocked to the brim, so if anyone needs something and the store is closed, mine will be open. This of course falls into my money saving, debt reducer resolution, because now we won't be running to Acme and spending money every night because I am out of something that we needed to cook a nice meal. I also used my handy dandy butcher to cut my roast for stew meat and my $13 pork loin down to 8 thin cut chops, six thick cut chops, and two great size pork loin roasts for my crock pot. I can say I am an expert, the butcher calls me the "smart shopper". Wish I could say Don and I are the smart spenders. But at least now that our house projects are finished we can start saving money and getting on the road to recovery, what a great feeling. My favorite goal that I have achieved was going to church today. I am thankful that my girlfriend told me to check out the new church at Kingsway H.S. which is called Crossbridge Community Church. If anyone is looking for a way to find Christ in your life, this may just be the place you want to call "home". I have been as said before, feeling like my world had a little void in it and thanks to my sister for letting me in on one of her most passionate things in life, Jesus, I am beginning to feel like a better person. I took Connor with me to church today and he really doesn't like the nursery so he went to the service with me. He was really a good boy, besides wanting food and water, he did great. He loves the music and I truly enjoy the hour with the lord. The pastor is great and the people are wonderful, too. I even signed up to be a part of the kids ministry and help out with Kidsworks so that I can be more involved. I think Connor and Mara will thank me in the long run for sending them to Sunday school and getting into a great routine of going to church every week. It definitely is a great way to get my week off to a better start. So just wanted to let you all know how my resolutions are going and I must say 2009 is going to be a great year for the McMahon's. Hugs and Kisses to all of you and we really miss everyone already. Can't wait to see the grandparents and aunts and uncles soon.
I forgot to tell you all that my scrapping would be getting out of the rolling cart if my head was not stuck in the book " Twilight". If you have not started reading this series get out there quick, because It is so addicting! Just wanted to let you all know about this little secret!

You go girl!! I loved Twillight too I read the whole series in about 2 weeks. Needless to say that's all I did. I haven't watched the movie yet, I have heard that if you read the book you won't like it. I guess I will wait till it's out on Video (help my pocket too). I think I have the next two lying around. If you want to give me your address I could send them to you Media Mail, but you have to promise that when you are done...you will pass them on to someone else.
